Backyard Chicken School - May 2nd, or May 3rd, 2024

DON’T MISS OUT ON THIS GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN THE ABC’S OF CHICKEN RAISING AND BEYOND!  

Participants will learn the basics and beyond of flock ownership!  This school will cover flock selection, housing & coop needs, the basics of chicken husbandry including day to day care, seasonal care , nutrition, organic preventative care, common illnesses and cures, first aid and so much more! 

Small group sizes and one on one interaction allows for a more in depth and personalized experience. 

Finish the day with hands on learning as each participant is given their own chicken for which becomes their learning buddy!!  You will get to know the parts of your chicken, how to properly hold, sooth, administer medications and the various body parts.

At the end of the session, each participant will leave with a Chicken Keeping Flock Certification (recognized by 23 municipalities as required for permits) a plethora of reference materials, coupons and one year of chicken expert help by phone, text or email from our expert staff at Cedar Crest Farm and Feed.

Small bites and drinks will be provided.  This year, school will be held at Deep Woods Lodge (Located in the Geauga County Park), 9160 Robinson Road Chardon Township., OH 44024. This is a beautiful new lodge with a large fireplace, plenty of large live edge tables and room to spread out. Directly outside the lodge is a pond, sitting area with tables and chairs and very clean restrooms!
