GUINEA FOWL
Guinea fowl are highly effective at both pest control and predator protection. They can reduce ticks at an alarming 500 ticks per hour! To me, a little noisy animal is worth my animals (and self) being safe from Lyme disease. Well known for being great at spotting predators like hawks or fox, Guinea are paramount at helping to keep the entire flock safe. Guinea fowl have no issue with using their call when needed. On a large piece of land, homestead or farm, their call is like white noise. However, in a suburban neighborhood…Well, your house might get egged! In other words, they are loud.
Know this: Chicken math is one thing, Guinea fowl is a whole new ballgame! They are unbelievably independent, low flying egg laying machines and loyal to their keepers. They might just be the coolest form of entertainment on your homestead and certainly a great source of comfort knowing they will sound the alarm at the first sign of danger. Kept in small flocks of at least 3-4, they are rather manageable. Males tend to get bossy and might make a special dinner if that bossiness becomes too much for the flock. However, the ladies are amazing layers of small but mighty eggs. They will lay upwards of 290 Omega rich, low cholesterol eggs per year.
GUINEA KEETS ARE SOLD IN SETS OF 3 ONLY! COLORS WILL VARY.
