HOMESTEADING BASICS SCHOOL: Inviting simplicity back into life.

In our ever changing and uncertain world, more and more people are “levelling up” and becoming ever so aware of the importance to be self sufficient. Homesteading, even in the smallest of ways, is being incorporated into the lives of people from the suburbs to the country. From raising backyard chickens, bees and gardening to exploring recipes with tinctures and herbal remedies. This amazing world of homesteading has opened up a world to so many. Becoming connected to our Earth, finding peace and tranquillity within their souls and bringing families together. In doing so, an atmosphere of togetherness and oneness where your home becomes your sanctuary; your safe space is created.

In this school, we will cover all the basics of incorporating Homesteading into your space. Whether you live in a high-rise apartment or a large acreage farm. Homesteading practices can and should be, embraced by all. This is where it all began; with the Earth, with our hands and our hearts. We will cover everything from garden designs both big and vertical, year round sprouting, fermenting, composting to canning, making butter, herbal remedies, tinctures, homemade laundry detergent (that works and smells better than ANY harmful store bought detergent), natural and effective cleaning products, natural and lovely smelling insect repellent, basic chicken tractor plans, how to build a rain barrel and so much more!

Date will be May 1st and will have 2 sessions, 9am to 1pm and 5pm to 9pm.

Cost is $85 per person and includes a take home book and sample products that will be made during the session. Participants will also go home with a gift bag to inspire their newfound skills and hopefully some newfound and like minded friends for life.

Small bites and drinks will be provided.  This year, school will be held at Claridon Woodlands Lodge (Located in the Geauga County Park)11383 Claridon Troy Rd, Chardon, OH 44024. This is a beautiful new lodge with a large fireplace, plenty of large live edge tables & chairs and room to spread out. Directly outside the lodge is a pond, sitting area with tables and chairs and very clean restrooms!
